From the Parker County Sheriff's Office:

Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Captain Randy O’Neal presented Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler with a hand-crafted buckle this week commemorating the 2017 Parker County Sheriff’s Posse 70th anniversary.

A Sheriff’s Posse badge is set in the center of the buckle, surrounded by rubies and traditional western scrolls of silver, rose and yellow gold.

The buckle was made by Peaster-based buckle crafters Shea and Tyson Durfey, of Shea Michelle’s Buckle Designs.

Captain O’Neal stated the Posse’s role in the community plays a large part of keeping the western heritage and traditions of Parker County alive, just as Sheriff John Young did in 1947 when he established the Posse with 13 charter members who vowed to preserve the frontier west.

“We strongly believe Sheriff Fowler operates the Sheriff’s Office displaying the same western heritage which Posse members strive for,” O’Neal said. “We are proud to present this buckle to him, and we look forward to this milestone year with upcoming events, celebrating the works and traditions of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse.”
