The Ladycats played solid defense in the first half, limiting talented Seguin to eight first-quarter points and nine points in the second period.

Paced by a pair of jumpers from senior guard Erin Weiss and five points by Haeussler, the Ladycats led 14-8 after the opening quarter. Aledo stretched its lead to 18-9 in the second quarter when senior post Chloe Mefford found freshman post Janessa Payne for a layup.
