Nema Merrell LaVigne

Nema Merrell LaVigne, 81, was born in Bonham, Texas on May 1, 1935 and departed this life on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Nema was selflessly loving, loyal, and strong and she never met a stranger.  Together with Daddy, they raised a very close-knit family in Aledo for the past 50 years and loved cheering for her Bearcats. She was an incredibly devoted wife, mother, and Nana and the family’s lives won't be the same without her. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Lorne, and their four adoring children:, Tony LaVigne, Gay Whitfield, Cindy Featherston, and Michelle Varga (Paul). She was also adored by 8eight grandchildren,: Tony and Tyler LaVigne, Lindsey Bass (Josh); Logan Whitfield; Emilie Featherston; Damian, Drake, and Dane Varga; and one great granddaughter, Wesley Grace Bass. Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday, November 10 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment at a later date at DFW National Cemetery.
