Aledo’s defense is one of the best in the state.
Senior Michael Arlt leads the team with 9 sacks followed by sophomore Colt
Ellison with 6. The defensive line is fast, athletic, and strong. Senior Wes
Harris and junior James “big game” Williams are normally doubled if not tripled
team every game to try to prevent the speed that they have getting off the
Standout freshman Jase McClellan leads the team with
833 yards rushing and is second to Junior Donnie Evans touchdowns (17) with 12.
When Davis goes to the air he spreads the ball around. Three primary receivers
senior Logan Bridges, junior Hunter Rosson, and senior Preston Jefferis all
have over 600 yards and they combine for 25 touchdowns.
The Bearcats offense comes in averaging 69 points a
game and their defense is only giving up 18. Senior quarterback Dillion Davis
is having an exceptional good year. The senior signal caller has 33 touchdown
passes with only 6 interceptions along with 2616 yards.
Rider uses 3 quarterbacks and they get close to the
same production from all 3. All 3 signal caller are over 6’0”, fast and
athletic but, all 3 combined only have 13 touchdown passes for the year.
The Raiders operate a run first, pass second offense.
Their leading ground gainer and leading scorer is senior Willie Phillips. The 6’0”
210 lbs. running back is the biggest back Aledo has faced all year. He is
averaging 104 yards a game and almost 7 yards a carry with 15 rushing
touchdowns for the year.
Rider’s last district game was a 38-14 loss against Denton Ryan. Aledo
defeated Boswell last week 49-24. Rider has actually given up more points, 355,
than they have scored, 338
