Charles Ray Huskey, 80, died Friday, July 8, 2016.

Charles was born January 19, 1936, in Fort Worth to Roy Huskey and Beulah Lindsey Huskey. He graduated from North Side High School in 1954 and then joined the U.S. Navy. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Myrna "Dolores" Howard, and together they started a family.

After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, Charles began a successful career that spanned over 40 years as an IT leader. He had executive roles at LTV, Parkland Hospital, Southland Royalty and Burlington Resources/Meridian Oil.

In his spare time, Charles was a passionate philanthropist who gave his time and resources to many worthwhile causes, including Carter Blood Bank, Texas Scottish Rite Hospitals for Children, Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors and numerous others. He was also a past president of the Petroleum Club in Fort Worth and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Weatherford.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and playing golf. However his greatest loves in his life were his family and God. He was a dedicated husband to his wife, Dolores, and demonstrated the type of sacrificial love that is desperately needed in our world today, as well as a caring father who loved his children unconditionally and raised them in the fear of the Lord. He loved Jesus and was a dedicated prayer warrior. He believed so strongly in the power of prayer and was always willing to pray for the needs of others, whether he knew them personally or not.

To meet Charles was to adore him, no matter your age. He touched countless lives throughout his lifetime. His larger-than-life personality, love of life, and love of people will be missed by all who knew him.
