Quinton Reeves retires, named professor emeritus

Posted

After a successful 42 years at Weatherford College, Political Science Instructor Quinton Reeves retired at the end of the spring semester, but not before the college bestowed upon him the title of professor emeritus.

Originally from Littlefield, Reeves worked as a research assistant at Texas Tech University and was in the U.S. Navy for three year prior to his WC career. He was hired in the summer of 1974 by Brad Tibbitts, another esteemed WC employee who retired after a lengthy career.

Reeves said the best part of his time at WC has been working with students who filled his classroom and instructors from other disciplines. He added that he will miss the daily banter with his colleagues.

“The experience of teaching at Weatherford College has been wonderful,” Reeves said. “I am constantly running across former students that had me 20 or even 30 years ago, and they remind me of things that I taught them in the class. That is what makes it worthwhile.”
