Aledo residents featured in Kids Who Care's production of 'The Little Mermaid'

Kids Who Care, a non-profit Musical Theatre located in the center of the Arts District in Fort Worth, is proudly launching the 2016 summer season with Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Aledo residents Hanna Coffman, Madi and MacKenzi Lear, Maddox Martin and Yoella and Esteban Cadena with their International guest, Jonathan Seider from Germany have been cast in the production.

Maddox Martin, who started with Kids Who Care at age 3,  will be leaving for NYC this fall to study at New York Film Institute. Maddox will be playing Ariel’s favorite Seagull, Scuttle.

Kids Who Care is known for producing full top level productions equal to that offered to adult and professional actors, and this summer’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid is no exception.

Under direction of Kids Who Care’s Executive Director, Deborah Jung, the cast of local children ages 7-18 will be working with top industry professionals.

Caleb Ransom will make his Kids Who Care debut on stage as Sebastian, R.L. Paschal High School Theatre Director Samantha Clayborn is cast as Ursula, local favorite Winston Daniels as King Triton and  Matt Ransdell Jr. is cast as Chef Louis.

Brittany Jenkins returns as choreographer, Collen Powers is on costume design, hair design from Bailey Wiseman with an extravagant multi level custom set built by award winning set Designer Bob Lavallee.  Mr. Lavallee’s credits include an array of set design including:  Three Decembers at Fort Worth Opera, Cabaret at Dallas Theatre Center, and TV’s Barney.

Families are encouraged to join Ariel and her friends under the sea for the “Meet the Character matinee” on Saturday,  June 25 at 2pm.  This performance will include special treats for kids, meet and greets,  and photo opportunities with the cast.

All other performance times for Disney’s The Little Mermaid are as follows: Thursday, June 23, Friday, June 24, and Saturday June 25, at 2:00 and 7:30 pm. The final performance will be a Sunday matinee on June 26 at 2pm.

Performances will be at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, located at 1300 Gendy Street in Fort Worth.
