Zalar finishes fourth at state in pole vault; Tillman finishes seventh in 3200 but breaks own school record

Five of the six state-qualifying Aledo High School track athletes competed Thursday night at the Class 5A Track and Field State Meet at Mike Meyers Stadium in Austin. T.J. Zalar was the highest finisher, placing fourth in boys' pole vault.

Long-distance runner Harrison Tillman finished seventh in the boys' 3,200-meter run, but his time of 9:42.3 broke his own school record.

Junior Wes Harris placed fifth in boys' shot put, while Ladycats pole vaulters Sierra White and Mackenzie Lyon finished sixth and eighth, respectively.

Ladycats sprinter Kia Jordan will compete in the girls' 100-meter dash at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Meyers Stadium. Jordan is the District 8-5A, Area and Region I champion in the girls' 100-meter dash.
