Ladycats Black finishes second at District 8-5A golf tournament to qualify for regional tourney; Ladycats Orange finishes third

Paced by a 92 by Natalyn Yates, the Aledo Ladycats Black team shot a second-round score of 379 for a 36-hole total of 753 to finish in second place behind Joshua Monday in the final round of the girls' District 8-5A golf tournament at Pecan Valley Golf Course.

The top two teams at the district tournament qualify for the regional tournament in Lubbock. District champion Joshua and runner-up Aledo Black will represent the district at the Region I tournament.

Yates shot a 99 in the opening round and finished at 191. Other Black team 36-hole totals include Madison Wyss at 186 (91-95), Deyton Deller at 187 (88-99), Lilli Ingram at 189 (96-93), and Kayley Wright at 205 (101-104).

The Orange team finished with a 388 for a 36-hole score of 771.

Orange was led in the second round by an 88 from Rylee Gabbert, who shot a 90 in the first round for a two-round total of 178.

Logan Mays shot a 95 today and a 99 in the first round for a 36-hole total of 194. That total tied teammate Holly Craine, who shot a 95 in the opening round and 99 today. Other Orange totals include Macy Griffin with a 205 (99-106) and Kaitlyn Wright with a 217 (111-106).

The boys' District 8-5A golf tournament will begin tomorrow and conclude Wednesday at Pecan Valley.
