Former Aledo Ladycats two-time state-champion and current University of  Alabama golfer Cheyenne Knight shot a third-round 72 today for a 54-hole total of 2-under par to make the second cut and play on Sunday at the LPGA's Volunteers of America Texas Shootout at Los Colinas Country Club in Irving.

Knight, who is playing as an amateur, had to finish her second round this morning due to play being stopped Friday because of thunderstorms. The top 50 players after the third round advance to Sunday's fourth and final round. Check www.lpga.com for Sunday tee times.

In today's third round, Knight birdied holes six (par 3), 10 (par 5) and 14 (par 4) while also recording two bogeys and a double bogey for a one-over par 72.

"It's been a great experience playing against the pros," Knight told The Golf Channel following her round. "I have had a good freshman season (at Alabama) so far and seeing how my game stands up to the professionals has been a good test.

"I struggled (today) a little on the back nine, but I got it together to make the cut in my first LPGA tournament. I am very blessed."

The final round will be shown live on The Golf Channel from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
