The Fort Worth Police have issued a name and photo of the suspect still at large in a shooting in far west Fort Worth off Longvue Avenue near Camp Bowie. A Fort Worth Police officer was injured in the shootout.

The suspect is believed to be somewhere in the 76008 zip code and is considered armed and dangerous.

Ed Russell McIver, Jr., age 20, was arrested in Parker County in August of 2015 for a handful of misdemeanor charges including speeding and no driver's license. He showed a Weatherford address at the time of those arrests.

The injured officer - whose name has not been released - gave chase into a wooded area after two suspects in a pursuit fled on foot from their vehicle. Gunfire was exchanged, and the officer and at least one of the suspects were injured, according to a spokesperson from the Fort Worth Police Department.

Fort Worth Chief of Police Joel Fitzgerald said in a press conference that the injured officer is alive and receiving treatment at the hospital.

Anyone who sees McIver or any suspicious activity is the area is urged to immediately call 911.
