Aledo junior pitcher Hannah Andrews did not allow a hit and the Ladycats smashed 10 hits as AHS ran away with a 10-0 victory over the Granbury Lady Pirates Tuesday night in a District 8-5A softball game that was called by run rule in the fifth inning.

The win elevates the Ladycats' district record to 4-2, while the Lady Pirates fall to 1-5.

Andrews was the winning pitcher, allowing no runs on no hits with 10 strikeouts while walking three and hitting three batters.

After issuing a walk in the fifth frame, Andrews struck out the next three batters to end the game.

The contest was tight early on. Aledo led 2-0 after two innings but added a pair of runs in the third to increase the lead to 4-0.

The Ladycats exploded for six runs in the fourth.

Senior slugger Kadyn Kirkpatrick, who went three for three at the plate, drove in two of her three runs in the fourth. Megan Reynolds began the rally with a double and advanced to third on an errant throw to the infield. She crossed the plate after a perfectly-placed safety squeeze bunt by Lindsey McElroy.

The Ladycats continued their fourth-inning rally as Brynn Hellman and Gracie King each reached on infield singles. After Kirkpatrick's two-run single, a bunt single by Hallie Smith loaded the bases. Bailee Whitener followed and sent a sharp ground to the left side of the infield that Granbury could not handle as King scored for an 8-0 advantage.

Landri Mays followed and her ground ball plated Kirkpatrick and Smith for a 10-0 advantage that held up as the game was called on the mercy rule.

The Ladycats will continue district play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Cleburne.
