birthday was March 2, and the National Education Association celebrates nationwide annually by promoting reading in schools and libraries across the country. This brings kids and books together, and encourages reading – not just Dr. Seuss’ books, but all types of books. Aledo ISD elementary schools participated as well. Here are photos of Superintendent Derek Citty reading “Green Eggs and Ham” to a library full of kindergartners, and of Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney reading “Oh the Thinks You Can Think” to Mrs. Powell’s kindergarten class at Vandagriff Elementary School. . McCall Elementary first-grade teacher Kristi Lipscomb also read “Green Eggs and Ham” to her class. What fun, and a perfect way to celebrate reading!
